2020 Lineup
David Broad
a Finger-picking blues, swing, folk and country guitar player from Leeds, West Yorkshire

David’s playing is steeped in the tradition of American folk and blues guitar, from the rags of Blind Blake and Reverend Gary Davis to the delta blues of Robert Johnson and Charley Patton. He is also an accomplished harmonica player in the country blues tradition of Sonny Boy Williamson 1 and Sonny Terry.

His involvement with the Lindy Hop scene nudged him in the direction of early jazz and swing, but the standards Louis Armstrong may have sung still posses a rural quality. He cut his teeth playing in country and folk bands and will still play the odd bluegrass number if the feeling takes him.

His reworking of traditional songs breathes new life into well-worn standards and his original compositions the give a nod to the rootsy side of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt.

tim green band
tim green band
A covers and originals band who play guitar-based music with dynamics and passion

The Tim Green Band formed in Doncaster in 2015. Bandleader/guitarist/singer Tim Green has been playing in hard-working bands and tributes over many years before his love for blues music brought him back home to his roots.

They have released 2 E.P’s of original music but mostly pay tribute to the rich history of the genre by covering such great artists as Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, BB King, Howling Wolf, Fleetwood Mac, Elmore James plus modern artists such as Government Mule and John Mayer.

Described by Blues in Britain magazine as a ‘Blues guitarist supremo’, Tim Green along with Ruth and Alistair (who are fondly called ‘The Engine Room Rhythm Section’), play and perform with a passion that the music deserves.

Dori & the outlaws
An Americana/blues band heavily influenced by the sounds of Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans.

When it comes to singing about struggle and emotion, there are few genres that match the intensity of country/blues music and Dori is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve when writing her own songs, singing about both happiness and heartache in equal measures.

The songs are assisted in their excellence by some amazing and talented musicians, who obviously love the musical genre and deliver a professional and at times outstanding standard of musical ability.

dc blues
york's own dc blues will give you a full-on, no holds barred experience with original material and carefully selected covers.

DC Blues don't take themselves too seriously but they play some seriously good blues (just ask them what DC means and you will get several different answers).  They've been around since 2012 under various guises before settling on the current line-up.  Between them, they have 1000's of gigs under their belts and it is clearly plain to see that they have one hell of a good time when they play.

And before you say it, yes, DC Blues did play at the 2019 festival as that is one of the perks of being the event organisers.
